New Year - New List

Since all the shopping for Christmas is done and we have started the new year, I am going to start my new list, which will include my old list from 2012.

3 books to do ... I know I had three books on my list in 2012, and I did get one done, but have decided to do another book.

Sort material by color into the totes I bought in July 2012. I can smile at this because I just finished doing that this evening.   Mark that off the list! Completed Jan. 8.  1/8

Complete/start sewing projects:
Joanna  Completed Aug.  10/28
Kathy Completed Aug. 24.  10/28
Me - I have some dish cloths I want to convert into appliance covers.  Completed Oct 20.  10/28
Make the cover for the coffee table, we have a large black cushion we want to cover so we can have a comfortable foot stool we can both use.

Repair items:
Brian's Jacket - project I have promised to do before we moved 2 years ago. Donated in Sept.  Decided I would never get to this, so I donated it.  The zipper was broken, however the jacket was still good. 10/28
Brian's fleece jacket - I made this for him years ago, it was way to big, so I have to fix it so he can wear it.
My Purse  ....I think I threw this out when I was cleaning, it was hopeless. 3/12
my jacket   Completed Oct 25.  10/28
my rain pants
Brian's pants  Completed first of March! 3/12

Make cover for the dog crate...the material I have was supposed to be for a  pillow for our dog that we lost in 2004. Now we have two little dogs and a big crate for them, I thought I could make a partial cover so they can keep warm at the back of the crate.

Shred old paper work - you can only do so much at one time, goal is to get it done this year!  Completed sometime in the summer, I' keeping up on this, no more piles and piles of old paperwork for me.  10/28

Do taxes....I will get this one done sometime in Feb.  I'm adding it to my list so I can mark something else off.  Completed the first of March! 3/12

Set up a budget ... for some reason I really struggle with this one.

Set up a menu...trying to make this easy, so shopping would be easier for me and ....couponing!

Coupon more....I am constantly reminded on this by my daughter who is excelling at this.  She sends my head spinning when she tells me how she can buy $40 worth of stuff and only pay a few cents for it.  She bought me two boxes of hair color and only paid 24 cents for it.   I can't tell if it is because I had little sleep the night before or if I am just not smart enough to grasp the whole process.   I will work on this  when I can.

Keep posting on this blog

Start an Etsy account - I would like to make some extra money, and doing something I like - sewing - might be a way to do this.

It would be nice to get some of these things completed and crossed of my list. Oh, add planning on moving to this list!  Hopefully in about six months we will be moving.

Happy Reading !

  1. The first few months of couponing is a little rough. I didn't have someone to go shopping with when I started, and I missed out on a lot of great deals because I didn't know about the websites I do now. It's much more fun and a lot easier to take somebody with you though. :-)

  2. I know, but you seem so excited and knowledgeable about the whole process, I am having a problem getting it all.
