Busy Schedule and a Hike in a Park

It has been a busy couple weeks, so I've not had time to sew, and the fact that I have had trouble getting out of bed in the morning.  I blame the weather.  Cold and rainy, why get up early when it is so nice to snuggle deeper under the warm covers. Once up, I'm not in the mood to do much, with only a couple hours before I head to work.  I take care of the dogs and that is about all.  Today, though was different, I woke up at 4:14 am...I looked at the clock, rolled over and tried to go back to sleep.  My husband got up at 5 am to go to work,  mandatory overtime.  He just got the news that they will be changing his schedule to 6am - 2pm everyday.  Not happy with that, he will be getting up at 5am everyday now, and with me getting off at 8pm and not getting home until almost 8:30pm, does not give us much time with each other because he will be heading to bed and I'm still wired from work.

I dozed off a few times this morning, but finally got up at 6.  The maintenance crew was coming to change the air filter (which we do ourselves) and check the smoke alarms to see if they are in working order.  I didn't want to be caught in the shower when they came in.  Luckily, they came about half hour before I had to leave to work, so the pups don't have to be confined to the cage all day.

Getting up earlier does have its perks.  I got a lot done this morning.  Even did my exercises, which make me feel better than when I don't.

Looked through some material bins to find the fabrics to make a table runner I have been meaning to make for over a year.  I just might get it done.  I ran the fabric through the washer and dryer to pre-shrink it, I just heard the dryer end.  I'm getting excited about doing some sewing again.  Pictures to follow.

Love the oranges and purples
This past Sunday, my husband and I went hiking at Turkey Run State Park , trail 3.  It was such a beautiful day.  Sun shining, the perfect temperature, white fluffy coulds.  The canyon on the trail was gorgeous.  Some of the walls had water dripping on them which made the walls look like they were painted.  Beautiful colors.
Painted rocks. The green is moss

There are huge rocks that have fallen years ago.  My husband thinks these were set there to climb. You can see how enormous these are when there is a person standing by them.   I'll post some more pictures soon, for now I've got to go to work.
